Very Nice

That was a very good piece, man. The application of the melody was just right and it presented the feeling of hollowness "inside".

Great use of the FX, too. Was that the Sytrus "Growl"?

Any way, good goin' man. This must absolutely remain here on NG. Keep it up.

VegetarianMeat responds:

Nope, it wasn't growl, it was Gandalf the White (or whatever that preset is called). Anyways, thanks for the review, and sorry for the late response, I hadn't noticed that there was a new review :P

Nice

I can see it took effort here, man.

The phrasing was pretty nice and arrangement wasn't so bad.

What may be the problem is the choice of instruments or lack of mixer application. Perhaps both. The Piano was good, but it had no reverb from the mixer, therefore making it sound lil' cheesy and not that impressive. The string used for the main melody could have been better as well. In fact you could have started from your original string and used the mixer and automations to have the song gradually progress to a better sounding synth string like Silver Saw or something more dynamic to create a more dynamic climax and therefore make it sound WAAAY COOL. Many good songs I've heard used the same techniques and I was imppressed.

Anyway, the rest was very nice and well-arranged. If you like this genre you might like what I have in my audio page as well. Feel free to visit anytime.

4/5!

Wow, you know your stuff... I just experiment with sounds until it sounds ok... Thanks for the review, very in depth and accurate, very helpful.
Yeah, sure, I'll check out your stuff.

Cheers

General Note: I spelled "Smoke" wrong in the title, lol.

Not Bad...

But not the best, either. Then again, it's kinda hard to copy one as skilled as Buckethead. I like the guy, too. Good music.

One thing that'l help your music is if in songs like these, where it sounds like you gotta fill a gap, you could use Reverb on the drums via the Mixer.

The only way to get better is to keep trying.

Very Nice

It was very good, man. I can't even think of some bad points. The only troubling thing was the clicky bass, but I'm sure that's how you intended it to sound.

Very nice, man. A job well done.

Nice

I understand it was "by popular demand". Hell, I'm not sure they'd need an ending piece to it, though.

It was good, but what really bothers me is how this gets on the weekly favourites when my "Legacy of Big Blue" doesn't...

DarkValentine responds:

it all depends on the taste in what is there. read the reviews on this for yourself. it's definately a different change of pace.

Honestly, i didn't see this coming either.

Interesting...

That's really it. I can't really say much else, unless there was a melody in there somewhere.

If turned down a bit, It'd be great for a movie scene or something of the like, but I honestly am not a big fan of simply rhythm...

DarkValentine responds:

it is what the title implies how you look at it....well.....that's totally up to you.

I was looking for this.

I don't have much to say, other than that this song has great potential. You just need to take out the Fast Dist on the Bass or turn it down. WAAAY down.I suggest you continue working on this one. Waay too much potential, it's mind-blowing, man.

Nice tune

Hey, could be used as a menu theme or a soundtrack. If dummed down a bit, that is!

I need to mess around more with my FL to get something like this. Nice work.
